My name is Alice and I’m a mother of three children, one of whom is my 10 year old son Jude. Jude has severe learning disabilities and attends a special needs school. He was born with Microcephaly and thus has Global Development Delay and undiagnosed (still waiting assessment a year after requesting it!) autism.

Here are some pictures of us in varying forms! From left to right…Jude, Emmeline, Elsa, Joe, (Emmeline again) and me. Crazy bunch.

I thought it would be cool to write a blog about living with a disabled child and how it directly affects his and our lives. He’s not the easiest of children and I realise this means our girls have a different life to most people their age. However, I don’t see it as entirely a negative situation. Jude has taught me many things and has made me see things in people I wouldn’t ordinarily have seen (good and bad!) We’ve had some interesting encounters and I have developed a very thick skin. Or at least a good barrier that flies up at the slightest sign of attack…

So here it is…our life in words. I hope you enjoy 🙂

Happy for people to comment or contact me regarding any subject that is brought up. I would love to hear from you all. A x
